Well the first week has been full of fun events but I will start with what my job includes…

I am at the beach part of the resort and it is really awesome. My job includes standing and waiting for a customer to hire a beach umbrella or deck chair, than I simply set it up for them. If I am not doing that than I am either sitting in one of the four observations towers watching people swim in ankle deep water at low tide and chest deep at high tide. The water has no currents or waves and is just like a sandy pool. If a customer feels they can’t swim they use a life jacket available for them. During the week the hotel got new jetski rides so Elly and I got to “test” it. Was really fun!!!! It gets really hot though as it is summer and we are in the sun most of the time, but it is a really relaxed attitude. I work from 9-5 but my bus comes at 8 and leaves at 6 so between 5-6 I have dinner. I get a 1hour break and that is that. There are 3 meals at work to choose from each day it is usually curry, Okinawa soba and a “day special’ meal (all a very delicious.)

When we first arrived at the hotel for our jobs we had to do a lot of paperwork and signing (most of which I didn’t understand at all.) I than tried on my uniform which is a pair of board-shorts and a quick dry shirt and thongs (best uniform ever!!!) I got a holiday on my second day of actual work, so I took a 45min bus to Chatan. Also known as the American Village which has a Ferris wheel and a Jasco (Jasco is like Myers except a hell of a lot bigger and cheaper) I walked around there for a while but got bored due to the fact the whole area is just full of Americans as the American military base is situated near by. My next holiday was 2 days in a row. I made friends with the head jetski instructor and he told me to come on my holiday in the morning and he will take me and Harson on the jetski. So he took as to a small island on the reef and dropped us off on the jetski. Harson and I snorkelled for just over and hour which was beautiful and rich with life, I saw a lionfish which was awesome. When he took us back he gave me and Harson a go on the mega bowls; which is basically like to blown-up teacups connected by rope to the jetski. We both sat in one bowl each and the aim of the game was to see who could stay in the longest. Maachan (the jetski guy) revved the jetski and turned making us swing out and then Harson’s bowl flipped over and I won!!! Yay!!! The next day I travelled to Ishikawa with grant to see the town but all they had was a massive shopping centre where me and Grant bought these cool speakers for only 20bucks. During the week we went to a local bar and sat and talked, played electronic darts and the others drank. The other day they all went out drinking and when they came back a girl called Cat vomited everywhere so we all call her “vomotron” now. Yesterday I pierced Juan’s ear, it was fun and hilarious. Well all is good in the hood.

I live with 12 other Boobooski people doing the same thing as I am. I will start in order from when I met them.

Juan (pronounced Quuaaarrghhhuan): is an 18 year old male from Spain and has been living in the UK studying English for the past 3years, his mother is Japanese. Therefore he has a very funny accent and when he says “fuck you” he says “fak kuu yuu” funny funny!!!!! Well all in all he is a loud funny guy.

Sara: is a 22 year female he is from Hong Kong but has been living in Canada since she was 8. She is very amusing as she is afraid of any insect looking creature. A butterfly fluttered infront of her face the other day and she screamed and freaked out. She is a nice, very quite Christian girl.

Kate: is a 22 year female from Melbourne she is half Japanese and is quite the funny also. She likes to sit back and watch events surrounding her and then give her opinion in the end. Kind person.

Grant: is 22 year old male from NZ and previously home-stayed in Tokyo for 10months in 2004 and is really good at Japanese (everyone is quite jealous actually.) Really generous guy and translates stuff for everyone. Likes to explore and talk to random Japanese people lolz.

Thomas: 27 year old male from New Zealand but is came from Taiwan when he was a child. He is my roommate and is very easy to live with we just split everything between us. Works in the same section at the resort as me so we got along well.

Barbie: 25 year old female from Sydney with a Philippine background, she is very funny and a nice person.

Elly: 18 year old female from Tasmania and has blond hair so she gets stared at a lot in public and asked for pictures. When we are together we look like a circus as they see a tall guy with a blonde haired girl. She works in the same part of the resort as me and does similar hours as me and Thomas so we spend more time with Thomas and Elly more than the others. She is a funny aussie.

Harson: 24 year old male from Canada born in California but with a Hong Kong background. He likes to speak Cantonese with Thomas and Sara. He is my roommate as well and has same hours as me, Elly and Thomas so we hang around together a lot. He likes to argue with everyone and always has to be right so we all just nod and say yes so he will be quite lol. But all in all he is a good guy he is very entertaining.

Marvin: 21 year old Canadian with philo background also he is very funny and generous, he gives a lot of food and shares his stuff with everyone. He gets along with everyone and everyone likes him due to his gangster like attitude.

Felix: 19 year old male from Adelaide and works very early in the morning so is a bit negative sometimes but enjoys the Japanese lifestyle.

Sam: 18 year old male from NZ likes to talk to randoms and go to the bar. He is very friendly and fun to hang with.

Cat: 19 year old female from Sydney with Korean background and loves her alcohol she is the funniest. Very loud and energetic, got told off at work for having a loud voice. She is enjoyable to be around as it is entertaining to be around her. She acts very much like a blonde at times (e.g. when we wen to watch the sunset she thought we were at a “moon rising”) funny girl.

Till next time bitches!!!!!

Ladies and gentleman welcome to my first blog!!!!

THE ADVENTURE

Prologue:

I have traveled to the “Land of the rising sun” on the 30th of June which was 8 days ago. By myself to a job in Okinawa a southern island of Japan. I work at Rizzan Sea Park Hotel on the beach. Now please read on…

Day one:
Well I got on the plane realizing what the hell I was doing but had I really nice lady sit next to me. She was transferring to LA and staying in Taiwan for the stop over with me and was really friendly ....(She looked like the Mother of “Two an a Half Men” the old mum hahahahaha) well when we got to Taipei it was a huge airport!!! but me and this old lady found our way to the bus to get to our hotel...I stayed in a golf country club and got a massive 2 bedroom room with a bathroom the size of my room and well….it was worth more than 55dollars lol. But I was starving!!! we got there at 7:30 and dinner had to be paid in either Taiwan dollars or American dollars or Visa.. and I was starving but too scared to use visa.. but that nice lady on the plane saw me and bought me dinner it was a massive meal but cheap(she had American dollars on her.) Next day I got to the airport and it was huge 4 times the size of Brisbane. one half was called Terminal 2 the other terminal 1. I was told to go to T2 so I went in and customs was a breeze but the lady told me to go to gate B3 so I ran around trying to find B3 and got lost than realized B3 was in T1 so I was a little confused cause I was supposed to be in T2 so I asked another lady and she said "D"3 not B3, D3 so I had to got to the other side of the airport and it was easy to get lost. Finally I found it with 20minutes till boarding time. Well the flight to Okinawa was only 1hour and they still gave you a meal. Customs was okay on arrival but they took me away and checked my bag I had to unpack everything than I was fine. I met Stuart at the airport and other kids, they are all great people: one from Melbourne and 1 from Spain and 2 from NZ so they all speak English. I met my boss and other kids already working. I am the second youngest I think by only 2 months everyone is 19, 22, 26, 27. I went to the city office and registered as an alien (foreign) and other things. Well all in all up till today it was daunting in Taiwan and early today but now it is all fun. oh and Stuart bought wireless internet today for our room, so he set that up and we can go internet in our room for free cause booboobeach pay for it. My shifts are 9 -5 we are 1hour behind Australia so (9:30-6 your time)
